Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I have been so bless this year! It started off pretty rough but by the spring time, God began to do a wonderful work in my life! In May, I began my life with who now is my husband! This is our first Christmas together and I couldn't be more excited about it! Christmas this year is by far gonna be the best yet! I have so so much to be thankful for! My God is such a might God and as I look back to last year, WOW! What a difference. A wonderful difference. It's an absolute joy to have me best friend as my husband, a beautiful new home to have Christmas in and share it with the most amazing man i have ever known! I can't forget my little four-legged kids, Fancy, Shadow, Jenny, and June! I love my furry children! I can't imagine what Christmas will be like when we have "real" kids! But its definitely something I'm looking forward to! I get to see my nephews tomorrow and I know that will be a blast! Along with spending time with the rest of my family. I can't thank God enough for bringing me out of the rough I was in and bring me and my family close again. I love you Lord. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone!

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland!

It's Tuesday and I'm back at work. This weekend was so wonderful! Friday, I was at work and it snowed a little bit and then it turned to snow. I ended up leaving early, about 4, and it had started getting bad in Stanley. I slid out of the parking lot at work and by the time I got to Iron Station, the roads were absolutely covered! It just kept getting thicker and thicker. Lincoln county had always got more winter weather than Gaston county.Everyone in Gaston County got mostly ice. When I got to my road, it was like I was 4-wheelin'! i was only going about 25mph because it was so thick! But so beautiful! everything was covered and it was coming down in such huge flakes! I finally made it home. John was already at home. He had been Christmas shopping for me :o) and was wrapping them while I was on my 30 minute ride home! So I came in and got warmed up only to go back outside and play with the dogs out in the snow. Its quit snowing about 8:30 and began sleeting. I think it sleeting for most of the night. We got about 6 inches of snow and about 2 to 3 inches of ice and it all stuck around for my birthday! Saturday we were stuck inside all day. John and I played Guitar hero and watched movies the whole time. By the evening the roads were clear enough to ride on so my parents came to the house and we had pizza birthday cake and watch the Pixar Short films. Which is what John gave me the next morning for my birthday. Sunday we had our Christmas musical and it went great, even though we didn't get to have practice on Friday night because of the snow. It was still very good and was hard to hold back the tears and sing in some parts! After church we ate and then went home to rest. That night John took me to Olive Garden ( my favorite place) for my birthday. It was so nice. My cousin Carmen came to see me when we got back and we all just hung out! I had such a great weekend. Full of all kinds of fun! I have such a great Husband. I love him so much!

Why we celebrate Christmas...

Christmas will always be for us
A time to reflect on Christ
The gift God gave to all the world
Was the gift of His life

We know Christmas is not about tinsel
Nor fancy Christmas wreaths
Nor is it about all the decorations
That adorns our Christmas trees

And it’s not about Holly or Mistletoe
Hanging from our doors
Nor is it about the gifts that are left
By the jolly Santa Claus

Christmas is more than all of this
And the only reason why
We celebrate Christ’s birth together
And the wonder of His life

So remember as you celebrate
Just what it’s all about
And invite the Lord to join with you
Instead of leaving Him out

For He will always be the reason
We celebrate this day
No substitute the world may offer
Can take that meaning away

FA LA LA LA LA.......

I cannot believe Christmas is next week! Where did time go? I guess when you go through a lot it goes by pretty fast. Seems like it was just summer. So much has happened since then. I found the right guy,( who was my friend for almost 11 years) We dated for about a month and a half, got engaged, then got married a month later on August 22. We have both been married before. Whats funny is I sang in his first one and he came to mine! lol In the midst of that we were trying to by a house, which stayed in underwriting for about 2 months, then we finally got it. Moving was hectic but we got in, painted put up a dog fence, and then a couple weeks later after we had gotten everything settled, it was time to decorate for Christmas. Did I miss anything? Now this month is going by so fast with all the family get togethers and such. Sunday is our church musical and I'm excited about it. Its a really good one. Also Sunday is my Burfday! Whoo hoo! My hubby is taking me out to eat that night to the Olive Garden! My favorite place! I'll be 25, that half of 50?!?!?!? WOW! HAHAHA!

BUSY, BUSY!

So I'm like, really really busy this weekend! So busy! But there are so many things to be so grateful for! Even though working on saturdays stinks, at least I have work to go to. That's really something to be thankful for. Today after work, my husband and I are going to a birthday party. The little girl that was at the house the other night is turning 3! She is getting so big! Kids grow up so fast. It's like, once you get out of high school, everything just flies by! I know that when we have children that time will go by even faster but I cannot wait! After the party, we are going to head to a family get together. This is mine and John's first christmas together and there is still family that we haven't met on both sides! What better time to do it than the holidays! I'm just ready for some good food! LOL! Then tonight there is a Christmas party at a friends house. Depending on the weather conditions will determine if we get to go to that tonight because IT'S COLD! We are suppose to have "winter weather" tonight, and that can mean snow(doubt it) or just icy conditions, which is what we normally get. Although living a little further north now, they see alittle more snow. My husband and I are suppose to sing tomorrow in church but not if it's icy! Can you blame us? I would love to see a snow like we had last year because now we have our 6 month old, 50lb. bloodhound, who thinks she is still small. I would love to see her and Jenny, our 2 year old bassett hound play in the snow. I'm sure they will go crazy. Plus, when it snows, its just another reminder of God's wonder hands at work! Snow is beautiful just like our God!

So the party was nice last night. We had potato soup, with corn bread, and sugar cookies. When I got home from work I opened the door and the smell of fresh apple cider, that I had been simmering in the crockpot all day, overwhelmed me!AHHH! it smelled so good! I'm tempted just to make it everyday! It just made feel even more like Christmas! We had me and John, then my two friends and their kids over. I'm not real sure if we have had that many people in our house before, but it was fun! After we ate, we played a little guitar hero and little kids, one is a year old and the other is almost 3, we dancing. It was so hilarious! We couldn't hardly play because we were laughing at them! Then everyone left and the house was quiet! Its was so great to spend time with our friends! God has blessed us with loving friends!

Ready for Christmas!

I'm so ready for Christmas this year I can't stand it! First of all, I get to spend it with the love of my life, in our new home which is decorated so nice! John says it looks like Santa's village(fine by me). My life is finally put back together! Oh, God is good, ALL the time! Tonight we are having guest over for a Christmas get together. I've done this every year with two of my very close friends that I grew up with! I can't wait!

So much to do, so little time!

It's not easy trying to keep a new home clean. Nor a husband and four animals fed. Then there is the Christmas shopping and parties, musical practice and all the things in between, but I wouldn't change it for the world! I love my life and all it consists. Cleaning the house tonight will be a chore but it needs to be done and plus we get to spend time with great friends tomorrow night! Can't wait!
